All the way from CCXP Brazil, we have our brand new look at the Superman logo from James Gunn’s new movie set for release next July.
The new logo was shared by DC Film News, below, and really harkens back to the Christopher Reeve movies and the more Golden Age comics feel – it’s bright, clean, hopeful and just might be the take on Superman – and I say this as someone who loves Man of Steel – that we need right now.
James Gunn will be writing and directing Superman which is due for release in 2025 and David Corenset’s Superman will be facing off against About a Boy and X-Men star Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor while Rachel Brosnahan will star as Lois Lane.
Gunn’s DCU will kick off in full with the new Superman but the Man of Steel will be coming into a world already fully populated with heroes, villains, aliens and everything in between with the likes of Milly Alcock already cast as Supergirl, joining others such as Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Xolo Maridueña’s Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle and Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl to name but a few.
The DCU kicked off with Creature Commandos animated series last week, with Superman being the first big-screen entry in July 2025.
