Following our report in November (here) regarding the casting of a younger Jean Grey and Scott Summers, AKA Pheonix and Cyclops, further names have pooped into the pot, including some for Oro Munroe AKA Storm.

For Jean Grey, the list now apparently includes: Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones) and Saoirse Ronan (Atonement) join the previously rumoured Elle Fanning (Super 8) and Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit, ). Apparently the previously rumoured Chloe Grace Moretz, or Hit Girl as we know her, was offered the part but had to decline due to scheduling.

For the role of Cyclops we had already heard Timothee Chalamet (Interstellar), Ben Hardy (EastEnders(?)) and Charlie Rowe (Red Band Society) now joint them is Taron Edgerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service), Jamie Blackley (Snow White and the Huntsman) and Tye Sheridan (Mud).

The Storm shortlist includes Zendaya Coleman (KC Undercover) and Alexandra Shipp (Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B) both are pictured below.

It seems likely that this would be a multi-picture deal for whoever gets cast.

Confirmed to star James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac and Nicholas Hoult

X-Men: Apocalypse is scripted by Simon Kinberg, Mike Dougherty and Dan Harris and will star James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac and Nicholas Hoult.

It will be released on May 27, 2016.
