New report says Wonder Woman 2 will feature the return of Chris Pine and The Cheetah as the villain

The follow up to 2017’s block buster smash, the cunningly titled Wonder Woman 2, will be set during the autumn of the cold war.

That Hashtag Show has received reports that the script, which is being developed by Patty Jenkins, Geoff Johns and Dave Callaham, will prominently feature Cheetah as the villain Diana Prince faces off against.

This version of the character is said to be based on Barbara Ann Minerva, who was the third person to assume the role of Cheetah in DC’s comics universe

The Amazing Spider-man’s Emma Stone was being lined up to play the villainess but seemingly has turned down the role.

Returning to the movie, according to the new rumour, slated for a November 1s 2019 release, are Saïd Taghmaoui and Ewen Bremner and of course Gal Gadot and Chris Pine will be back.

Pine will be playing an ancestor of Steve Trevor (also called Steve Trevor) who will help wonder woman defeat her new foe just like his Grandfather did in the original.  this is a page straight out of the Wonder Woman TV series’ book. In the Lynda Carter-led show, actor Lyle Waggoner also played two members of the Trevor family: Steve Sr in Season 1’s World War II setting and his son Steve Jr 30 years later during Seasons 2 and 3.

In the comics, it was the main Steve Trevor that crash-landed on Themyscira (during World War II in the original story) and fell in love with Diana. However, for the move version of Wonder Woman, it sounds like the filmmakers have opted to split his comic book history among two characters, with the grandfather ending up on the island and the grandson getting to work with her more closely in our time.

So far Wonder Woman has been a highlight in the DCEU and we are excited to see what the next instalment brings.

Without getting into spoiler territory I can predict that Wonder Woman will over come her foe because as we all know Cheetahs never prosper (I’ll get my coat).
