June 7th, 2014 by Marc Comments

After the whole thing with Edgar Wright leaving Ant-man at Marvel, there’s been loads of stories and reports about who will probably be the man to take over the role.

Well, after all the names that have been bandied around, Marvel have officiaily given the gig to Peyton Reed, director of Bring It On, Yes Man and Down With Love.

Marvel have also released an official synopsis of the movie:

Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

We’ll have more as it comes…

UPDATE:

Anchorman and The Other Guys writer Adam McKay has been hired to rewrite the script which is being described as unsalvageable at the minute according to Aintitcool. Marvel are still hoping to hit the July 17, 2015 release date…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
