While the Pacific Rim sequel has been very on again, off again, we knew it was coming after Guillermo DelToro himself said it was still happening (here).
But now, according to io9, the sequel is set for release in February 23 with John Boyega set to save the world… we’re so on board with this!

John Boyega will be kicking some kaiju ass on February 23, 2018. That’s when the untitled Pacific Rim sequel, directed by Daredevil’s Steven S. DeKnight, will now hit theaters.
Guillermo del Toro will be executive producing the sequel to his 2013 film, which continues the futuristic story where humans drive massive robots called jaegers against an invading alien race. Actor Femi Oguns is also joining the cast.
The film was previously announced for 2017, but was moved off the schedule last year when del Toro left as director. Now, it’s back and the apocalypse once again begins in February 2018.
Until we get more info or sources, we’ll call this a rumour but, hell, it’s one we like!
