Patrick Stewart says he’d bring Professor X back for Deadpool…

March 4th, 2017 by Marc Comments

Last week we reported that both Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart had confirmed they were officially retired from their iconic roles as Wolverine and Professor X.

Stewart said: “at one point [Hugh] reached out, and he took my hand in those last few minutes, and I saw him go [mimes wiping a tear from his eye] like this, and then I realized I had just done the same thing … I realized there will never be a better, a more perfect, a more sensitive, emotional, and beautiful way of saying au revoir to Charles Xavier than this movie. So, I told [Hugh] that same evening, ‘I’m done too. It’s all over.’”

Now however, he’s going back on his word… just a little.

Speaking in the interview below, Stewart admits that Deadpool may be an excuse to bring Xavier back once more: “The discussion just now about Deadpool makes me think, well, maybe there is a proper justification for the revival of Charles Xavier.”

We honestly think we will see Xavier AND Wolverine back for Deadpool 2 but given the gravitas of Logan, we’re not sure how this would sit with the continuity. But then, it’s X-Men and Deadpool enjoys existing on the fringe, so we’d just go with it.

Would you like to see Xavier back for Deadpool? What about Jackman as Wolverine? Let us know…

Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
