Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters do a good deed PLUS are those different Proton Packs?

Well, we do love a heart-warming story here at FTN and this is certainly one… and it has something additionally cool hiding in it too.

The Image above features Paul Feig’s new ghostbusters team, Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, at Tufts Medical Centre in Boston where they stopped in to visit some of the children who are currently being looked after there.

That’s a pretty cool move by all involved.

However, that’s not the only cool thing in this story, we eagle-eyed GB fans at FTN noticed a few things about the picture.

Firstly, the name badges and no-ghost logo are missing from the suits for whatever reason. Secondly, is that the new PKE Meter on McCarthy’s belt (or maybe a trap)? And thirdly, those are clearly different proton packs and wands. Don’t believe us? Well, check out the packs that we saw already here.

Now, there’s a few possibilities here; maybe these are mock-ups for the visit – after all, the suits seem in accurate. Or, like we have suggested a few times on out live show and Podcasts, maybe the equipment gets an upgrade during the movie – the rumour is the team start up like they did in the original movie but soon get a government contract (like in the IDW series), could this mean a budget and hence, upgrade?

Great shot of the new Ghostbusters team putting a smile on a patients face at Tufts Medical Centre.#ghostbusters

Those ARE new packs! Mark 1?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
