Ever since it was announced that the next Captain America film would feature the Civil War storyline, many have wondered how it would all start. As in, how the schism in the Avengers would happen. In the comics, it happened due to heroes not related to the Avengers causing an incident that resulted in the deaths of many people. This caused the government to try and make a superhero registration act, to force heroes to reveal their identities to the government in order to be held accountable if things went wrong.
According to reports, the results of Age of Ultron seem to make the government do a similar thing…
“Following the events of Age of Ultron, the collective governments of the world pass an act designed to regulate all superhuman activity. This polarizes opinion amongst the Avengers, causing two factions to side with Iron Man or Captain America, which causes an epic battle between former allies.”
