Ready Or Not sequel to film this year!

It looks like the Ready or Not sequel is moving ahead this year!

If you’ve spent any amount of time with me here at Following the Nerd, you’ll know how big a fan I am of the original movie and it’s in-universe companion movie, Abigail and so it goes without saying, I am stoked for this.

Samara Weaving is back along with directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett and Chad Villella – collectively known as Radio Silence – along with writers Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy.

And now THR reports the movie is ‘eyeing a spring shoot’.

In the first 2019 movie, Weaving’s Grace married into a very wealthy family who made their fortune through board games and, on the night of the wedding, she ended up playing what she thought was a family tradition and a harmless game of hide and seek… but very quickly she was fighting for her life against a bunch of people she thought she could safe and perhaps the devil himself.

The movie pretty-much launched the career of Weaving and Radio Silence, who went on to make Scream V and Scream VI and then their own project, Abigail, which we have since learned is set in the same reality as Ready or Not, so it’s also very exciting to see this universe expanding even further as it’s been a heck of a lot of fun so far.

In October, Weaving said of the project: “I’m all in. I think we’re all in, I don’t know. I think we’re all in.

“I don’t know if we’ve had our blood handshake, but pretty much. We’ve done the spit handshake, but we haven’t cut each other’s hands and rubbed our blood together.”

That means we’re likely getting a new Radio Silence horror movie in 2026 and that’s just the news I needed on a cold February night.

Thoughts? I know you have them…

Confirmed: Ready Or Not and Abigail take place in the same world

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
