If, like me, you’ve been feeling the absence of John Wick in your life since last year’s Ballerina, then fear not… it seems the long-teased fifth Wick movie is finally coming.
Despite Keanu Reeves’ unstoppable John Wick appearing to die in 2023’s John Wick: Chapter 4 (“The character is dead. He died,” Reeves said when asked about a fifth movie in 2025), it’s well known that Lionsgate have actively been pushing for a fifth movie even since four came out and Chad Stahelski, who is overseeing the Wick unvierse, having directed all four movies, has said that unless they have a good idea, they won’t be doing a fifth movie just for the sake of doing it.
Well, it seems they have a good idea for bringing him back.

Lionsgate’s Adam Fogelson has confirmed in a new interview that wheels are finally moving: “Chad and Keanu have an idea that they think can be really exciting. There are a lot of steps, so I wouldn’t want to put a timeline on it. But in terms of finding a core idea, they seem to have landed on something that they are excited about, and now we’ll see.”
But, don’t worry if it sounds like that is going to be a while away, there’s more Wick goodness coming, with Fogelson confirming that Kubo and the Two Strings director Shannon Tindle’s animated prequel movie would be released before John Wick 5.
Stahelski talks Caine, The Continental and the future appearances, or not, of John Wick
On top of that, we also know a new TV series, Under the High Table, is in development and just a couple of days ago, it was revealed that Caine, starring and directed by Donnie Yen, right, would continue the story of the character as introduced in John Wick: Chapter 4, so there’s plenty of ‘From the World of John Wick’ still to come.
And we know that The Traveler’s Austin Everett has penned an original Samurai Western set in the John Wick universe, although little is known about it yet.
And that’s not even mentioning the upcoming John Wick video game.
So it might be a while but there are at least three more John Wick movies coming, a video game and a TV series, adding to the five movies, including the underrated Ballerina, and The Continental limited TV series we already have.
It’s a big world that John Wick inhabits, and we’re here for all of it.
Thoughts? I know you have them, and I wanna hear ’em all.
