Seth Rogan has given a new update on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 and it seems the sequel is closer than we expected.
Last year’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem gave us a whole new take on the teen heroes and, while it wasn’t a massive hit, the merchandise sold added to the box office assured it as a hit for writer/producer Seth Rogan and with animated series Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles now out in the world and the Mutants Unleashed game coming next month, there was seemingly little doubt that the frianchsie’s future was confirmed and now Rogan has given new details on the status of the sequel.
“There is a title, and it’s awesome, but I don’t think I can say it,” Rogan says, “But when it came up on the screen, I stood up and cheered. There’s an animatic — there’s a storyboarded version of the whole movie, so they’re working on it right now.”
Given the news, it’s very likely we’ll get a title and more details very soon – what we do know is that the heroes in the half-shell will face their more famous nemisis, Shredder in the next movie, so there’s plenty to keep fans excited.
The sequel is currently scheduled for October 9th, 2026.
