RUMOUR: Keanu Reeves to return as Constantine for HBO Max?

July 9th, 2020 by Marc Comments

So,this is a rumour we’d be taking with a large pinch of salt, had we not been hearing it for sometime now.

A new report is suggesting that, hot on the heels of the Zatanna movie news (here), that a HBO Max and JJ Abrams – who is developing a Justice League Dark movie for the streaming service – are looking for a familiar face for John Constantine and no, it’s not Matt Ryan.

Yes, it’s that they may be looking for Keanu Reeves to return to the role that he first played in the 2005 movie, Constantine.

According to the report, Reeves will front the Justice League Dark team, presumably also to have Swamp Thing, Etrigan: The Demon, Deadman, Zatanna and more.

Now, had this been a month ago, I would likely had scoffed at the very notion but given that AT&T and Warners are going for the Multiverse idea in a big way with Michael Keato rumoured to return as Batman, the Snyder Cut and more, then this could certainly have some merit.

So, that’s the rumour, now I want to hear your thoughts, gang.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
