We knew in July that Shake It Up! actress Zendaya was cast in Spider-man: Homecoming and, honestly, our first react was that she had to be the new Mary Jane Watson to Tom Holland’s Spidey/Peter Parker.
She’s young, smart and beautiful, so it wasn’t that big of a leap (here).
However, at the time, we were informed: “She will play a character called Michelle, but details beyond that are thin on the ground, however it is unlikely she is a love interest of Peter Parker’s.”
So we figured we were wrong.
However…
“Zendaya will be playing long-time Spider-Man love interest Mary Jane Watson in next summer’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” two individuals with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.”
Now we know this is now filed under rumour but we have to say that this makes a lot of sense to us.
