Ryan Reynolds to star in Netflix’s Dragon’s Lair movie

May 8th, 2020 by Marc Comments

It looks like Netflix is bringing the classic Dragon’s Lair video game back to the masses again (they previously featured it in Stranger Things Season 3).

This time they’re planning on having Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds, star (and produce) in the live-action movie as Dirk the Daring, a brave knight on a quest to rescue Princess Daphne.

The game, while not particularly good, was iconic because it actually looked and felt like you were playing a cartoon. It was created by Don Bluth and Cinematronics in the 1980s and has been fondly remembered ever since.

There was an animated series and it has been developed and failed as a movie several times in the past but it looks like Netflix are about to do what even Alan Dean Foster failed to do in the 80s when he came closest to getting it made.

We’ll see you in the Dragon’s Lair the minute it drops.

Thoughts? I want to hear them…
