Sam Raimi is working on a new Evil Dead movie

October 7th, 2019 by Marc Comments

Ready for the good news? There’s another Evil Dead movie in the works!

Yes, at at New York Comic Con The Evil Dead and Army of Darkness director Sam Raimi has confirmed he’s developing another Evil Dead movie with a new director.

The bad news? The legend himself, Bruce Campbell will only be producing this one.

Now fans will know that, aside from the original trilogy, Fede Álvarez made a crackingg all-out horror entry into the series in 2013 and then the awesome Ash vs Evil Dead series kept the legend of Ash Williams alive for three years until last year.

But now Raimi is teasing, in his own words: “There’s more Evil Deadcoming.”

Raimi had previously confirmed he was trying to get Campbell back (here) but he confirmed at NYCC that Campbell got “tired of me throwing blood on him. 40 years of Bruce and those sticky syrup shirts… He wants to work again, but he just doesn’t want to play that role right now.”

Which is fair enough, really.

However, he added: “I’d love to [direct again] — I love directing… It’s hard though — it’s hard when you don’t have the best script to direct. I’m waiting to find a script that really speaks to me, something that everyone would love, but is really personal to me, too. Then I would be back in the director’s chair.”

Then he said: “What’s next Is I’m writing a movie with my brother Ivan, and I’m hoping to make that.”

Well, that is just music to our ears here are FTN Towers because, well, there’s never been an entry into the franchise that hasn’t been great.

Long may that last.

Thoughts?
