Scott still wants to direct Blade Runner 2…

December 5th, 2014 by Marc Comments

After the revelation last week that Ridley Scott would NOT be directing Blade Runner 2 (here), we at FTN were left rather concerned because, frankly, we don’t want anyone else takng the reigns on this.

However, it seems that it’s not quite as straightforward and Scott himself isn’t sure anyone else but him should handle it.

Speaking to Yahoo, the director voices his hesitation to let anyone else look after it: “I don’t know about [not directing ‘Blade Runner 2′] yet. The script is very, very good. Very good. I wouldn’t know [what sort of director we’d want]. It’s a hard one to track because it’s a very personal piece of my work. [‘Blade Runner’] may be one of the most personal pieces I did. I got so beaten up for it, I said I’d never try that again. But here we are. It’s sitting there ready to be made.”

Scott has a very full schedule at the minute with The Martian and Prometheus 2 but speaking for us all at FTN, if the script is THAT good Mr Scott then forget everything else and bring Deckard back….

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
