After the revelation last week that Ridley Scott would NOT be directing Blade Runner 2 (here), we at FTN were left rather concerned because, frankly, we don’t want anyone else takng the reigns on this.
However, it seems that it’s not quite as straightforward and Scott himself isn’t sure anyone else but him should handle it.
Speaking to Yahoo, the director voices his hesitation to let anyone else look after it: “I don’t know about [not directing ‘Blade Runner 2’] yet. The script is very, very good. Very good. I wouldn’t know [what sort of director we’d want]. It’s a hard one to track because it’s a very personal piece of my work. [‘Blade Runner’] may be one of the most personal pieces I did. I got so beaten up for it, I said I’d never try that again. But here we are. It’s sitting there ready to be made.”
Scott has a very full schedule at the minute with The Martian and Prometheus 2 but speaking for us all at FTN, if the script is THAT good Mr Scott then forget everything else and bring Deckard back….
