SDCC 2017: Joker Vs Harley movie in the works at Warners as David Ayer talks Gotham City Sirens

July 22nd, 2017 by Marc Comments

While we know that a Suicide Squad sequel is in the works at DC/Warners as well as a Gotham City Sirens, we now have news that another movie in that vein might be happening.

One thing we did get in the Suicide Squad movie was that Harley (Margor Robbie) and The Joker (Jared Leto) have a dysfunctional relationship at best and it seems this might be the focus for anther movie pitting the lovers against each other.

And, again, that’s all we know at the minute except that star Leto isn’t dropping ANY hints about the Clown Prince of Crime’s next appearance: “Talking about Joker is like talking about ‘Fight Club’ (Leto was in Fight Club): unless you want to gargle your testicles, it’s probably better to leave it. He’s liable to jump out of the cupboard and just start having fun.”

Fair enough.

The movie is rumoured to be produced by DC top guy Geoff Johns.

Will we get some Harley Quinn VS. The Joker news tomorrow at the DC Panel? Well, we’ll keep you posted.

Meanwhile, David Ayer, the director of Suicide Squad reveals why he’s side stepping the sequel in favour of Gotham City Sirens: “It’s a story about three fantastic women [Harley, Catwoman and Poison Ivy] who’re trying to find their way in the world, and realize that they have more power together than they do individually,” Ayer said.

“I have daughters, and I want to create something that might be able to help them get along in the world a little bit.”

We’ll get you the news as it breaks, guys!
