SDCC 2017: WATCH: The LEGO Ninjago trailer is a heck of a lot of fun

July 22nd, 2017 by Marc Comments

I’ll not lie, Ninjago is one of the LEGO lines I know next to nothing about, so after the LEGO Movie and LEGO Batman, I had no excitement for this one, although I fully expected it to be fun.

A second trailer has dropped from SDCC and I have to admit, this does look like a lot of fun and not at all what I expected.

Check it out below and let me know your thoughts…

Directed by Charlie Bean, The Lego Ninjago Movie features the voice talent of Dave Franco, Michael Peña, Fred Armisen, Kumail Nanjiani, Zach Woods, Abbi Jaconson, Jackie Chan, Justin Theroux and Olivia Munn. Here’s the official synopsis:

In this big-screen Ninjago adventure, the battle for Ninjago City calls to action young Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, who are all secret warriors and LEGO Master Builders.  Led by kung fu master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat evil warlord Garmadon, the Worst Guy Ever, who also happens to be Lloyd’s dad.  Pitting mech against mech and father against son, the epic showdown will test this fierce but undisciplined team of modern-day ninjas who must learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash their true power.

The LEGO NINJAGO Movie will be released in theaters on September 22, 2017.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
