Spend Halloween with Hocus Pocus’ Sanderson sisters

October 25th, 2020 by Marc Comments

While we all wait for the return of the Sanderson sisters in the long-touted Hocus Pocus sequel (here) we can spend Halloween night with the original cast in their roles along with a host of stars in a new event to help support New York Restoration Project.

The event, on Halloween night, costs $10 for streaming and will see Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy all return to their witchy roles – Winifred, Sarah and Mary Sanderson – and will be hosted by Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.

But as if that’s not enough, the event, which will delve into the history of the witches (in a faux-documentary fashion), will also star Glenn Close, Billy Eichner, Jennifer Hudson, Adam Lambert, John Stamos, Meryl Streep, Billy Crystal, Samantha Diaz, Todrick Hall, Anjelah Johnson-Reyes, Alex Moffat, Martin Short, Sarah Silverman, Sophie von Haselberg, Thora Birch, Omri Katz, Doug Jones, and surprise guests, so it’s going to be one hell of a night’s fun.

As Midler wrote on Instagram (below): “‘In Search of the Sanderson Sisters’ is the best thing to happen to #Halloween since Hocus Pocus + Reeses Pieces.”

Bette Midler has conjured an all-star cast that’s sure to get into mischief as they raise funds for New York Restoration Project (NYRP) at her virtual “Hulaween” benefit: In Search of The Sanderson Sisters, A Hocus Pocus Hulaween Takeover. On October 30 at 8:00 p.m. EDT, Ms. Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy will reprise their Hocus Pocus roles in a one-hour, must-see Halloween event filled with laughs, tunes, and mad witchcraft.

Elvira, Mistress of the Dark will host the documentary-style show, which delves into the sisters’ history, answering questions about their ancestry (which dates back to Merlin), their education, their music careers, their fateful love affairs, and so much more. For one night only, the witches, along with Hocus Pocus castmates Thora Birch, Omri Katz, and Doug Jones, are back. And you can be sure, no gravestone will be left unturned.

Along for the ride are Glenn Close, Billy Crystal, Jamie Lee Curtis, John Debney, Samantha Diaz, Todrick Hall, Jennifer Hudson, Anjelah Johnson-Reyes, Michael Kors, Adam Lambert, George Lopez, Alex Moffat, Vinessa Shaw, Martin Short, Sarah Silverman, John Stamos, Meryl Streep, Kenan Thompson, Sophie von Haselberg, and other surprise guests.
