WE really, really loved the domestic and international trailers for Spider-man: Homecoming – haven’t seen them? Rectify that HERE – and it looks like we far far from being alone with that love.

Deadline are reporting that “based on the success of the global trailer launch yesterday for Sony’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, [Sony, Marvel and Disney] have announced that its sequel Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 will open on Friday, July 5th, 2019. Spidey essentially pushes Sony’s Bad Boys 4 off that Independence Day stretch. The Will Smith-Martin Lawrence fourquel, which was scheduled to open on July 3 of that year, isn’t falling back, rather zooming forward to Memorial Day weekend on May 24, 2019.”

We can’t say we’re surprised that people loved the trailer so much or that a sequel is happening as Spider-man is without doubt Marvel’s most loved superhero and fans have waited a long time for him to be properly realised on screen and it looks like Tom Holland is the man (kid?) to do it.

So what say you? Are you excited for Homecoming and its sequel? Let us know, web heads…

Spider-Man: Homecoming opens on July 7th 2017

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
