Stallone’s Role In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 Revealed!

April 6th, 2017 by Todd Black Comments

To say there’s a lot of star power in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 is an understatement. Between the five main Guardians, and their new additions, and the new villains, and Kurt Russell, there’s already a lot of big names, but then you throw in Sylvester Stallone? Holy crap man.

The catch here, is that we didn’t know who Stallone was playing in the film…until now.

The tweet below contains a section of the press release given to the sites like MovieBook, which clearly says that Stallone is playing Stakar…aka Starhawk.

Name not ringing a bell? It’s ok. Starhawk is one of original Guardians of the Galaxy. No, not the 21st century version, the 31st century version. Who was the actual original GOTG…comics everyone.

Now, to add to the fun of this, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 had the production name of Guardians 3000, which was the name of the original team, and the name of a Marvel comic that depicted that teams adventures…which included Starhawk.

It’s unclear of course how big of a role Stallone will have in this, but it’ll be interesting to see how it plays out when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 arrives May 5th.
