Two big bits of casting news from James Gunn’s Suicide Squad movie for you guys tonight.
First up, Castle himself, Nathan Fillion, has been cast in the movie in a mystery role.
Fillion is no stranger to working with Gunn, having starred in Slither and Super and having had a brief cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy.
So, let’s hope that he has a significant role this movie as Fillion has long been a fan favourite to join the DCEU – primarily as Green Lantern who he voices in the DC Animated movies, but I doubt that’s what’s happening here. Though it would be great if he was.
Next up, comedian Steve Agee has been cast as the voice of King Shark.
Agee is still relatively unknown but he was a Ravenger in Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 although he is likely best known for his role in sit-com Superstore.
The duo will star in the sequel with returning Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis and Jai Courtney who will be joining other newcomers Idris Elba, David Dastmalchian, Daniela Melchior and Flula Borg.
The movie is due to start filming next month, so expect loads of news to start pouring through soon.
The Suicide Squad hits cinema on August 6th, 2021.
