Things that make you hmmmmmmmmmm…

It’s been revealed that actor Scott Foley has officially signed on for Scream VII which really has our attention because Foley has been an instrumental character in the Scream universe once already.

Fans of the series will know that in Scream 3, Foley played Roman Bridger who not only turned out to be Ghostface and was ultimately killed, but also was revealed to be the half-brother of Sidney Prescott, played by Neve Campbell.

So why would he be returning? Well, who knows…

We break down why Matthew Lillard’s Stu Macher may be the villain in Scream 5

I mean, it’s Scream so he could be playing Roman’s twin brother or maybe even someone new altogether but I don’t think that’s likely.

If I were a betting man, I’d say we’re going to see Roman in flashbacks – similar to how Skeet Ulrich’s Billy Loomis appeared in Scream V, flashbacks that tie into the start of the whole story.

Fans of the franchise will recall that Bridger revealed that it was he who tipped Billy Loomis off to his father’s cheating with Sidney’s mother, which caused him to become a killer in the first place, ultimately leading to the creation of Ghostface.

Let’s also not forget that Scream 3 is the only movie in the series that had only one killer, though the movie was originally intended to have two but after rewrites and over-hauls, that second killer was forgotten about… might we now finally find out who else as carving up the cast?

And, to all you Stu-believers out there, yes, I do think this could all lead back to Matthew Lillard’s Stu Macher, the second Ghostface in the original Scream, still being alive…

But that’s a theory for another day.

Foley joins returning cast members Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown and newcomers Isabel May, Celeste O’Connor, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace, Sam Rechner, Anna Camp, Joel McHale and Mark Consuelos.

So, the return of Roman, huh? Let me know all your thoughts, guys…
