Yes, finally! It looks like the ever-enigmatic Quentin Tarantino has finally committed to completing his trilogy of Kill Bill movies.
In a recent interview the director/actor/writer confirmed that he has the idea mapped out in his head and has met with star Uma Thurman about it.
“Well I just so happen to have had dinner with Uma Thurman last night, we were at a really cool Japanese restaurant,” he says.
“Well, I do have an idea of what I would do. That was the whole thing, conquering that concept… exactly what’s happened to the bride since then, and what do I want to do. Because I wouldn’t want to just come up with some cockamamie adventure – she doesn’t deserve that.
“The Bride has fought long and hard. Now I have an idea that actually could be interesting – I wouldn’t do it for a little bit though… It would be like at least three years from now or something like that. But look, it is definitely in the cards.”
Tarantino goes on to confirm that Kill Bill Vol 3 will be his next movie project but, as he says, it could be a while as he is currently developing a stage play and a TV series.
But look, just knowing that The Bride is still out there and looking to make a triumphant return is enough for now.
In the meantime, we have a Tarantino play and TV series to look forward to.
Happy Christmas, indeed.
