Look, we can’t lie… we’re getting it hard to be excited about an Avatar sequel (let alone four!) but what do we know?
James Cameron’s Avatar 2 is filming this week…
And that’s all we know. Pre-production has been going on for a while now but the filming and motion capture will be in production before the week’s end.
In a statement on the official Avatar Facebook page (here), it was confimed that film two comes in 2020, film three in 2021, film four in 2024 and film five in 2025.
“Great to be working with the best team in the business! Avatar takes flight as we begin concurrent production on four sequels. The journey continues December 18, 2020, December 17, 2021, December 20, 2024 and December 19, 2025!” it read alongside a picture of director James Cameron and his crew.
Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang and Sigourney Weaver all return for the sequels which have been written by Cameron along with Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, Josh Friedman, and Shane Salerno.
