We reported a while back that a Dune movie and (possibly) TV universe was coming and now it looks like it may have a very impressive director in mind to kick start it all…
It looks like Arrival and Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villeneuve is the man Legendary want for the gig.
“The Blade Runner 2049 director is in talks to helm the Dunereboot for Legendary. The production company picked up the film and television rights to Frank Herbert’s classic science-fiction novel last month.”
The original movie, released in 1984 and made by David Lynch, is so massive and ambitious, the fact that it exists at all is a credit to the people behind it, Yet, despite it all, it never quite did the Frank Herbert books justice.
It’s not a done deal but we reckon he’d be a good candidate for the gig…
What say you all?
