It looks like Warner Bros’ fourth Matrix movie may have found its new New.
So, despite Keanue Reeves being in the movie, it seems that he’s had his time as the one and is passing the mantle on to Iron fist star Jessica Henwick.
The has been chatter for some time that director and co-writer Lana Wachowski wanted a female lead for the movie – as is the current trend to replace what has gone before with female counterparts – and, proving the rumour right, it’s Henwick’s turn to say ‘woah’.
Honestly, this is a superb choice, as Henwick was easily the best thing about Iron Fist (not hard, I know) as Colleen Wing and was one of the best things about the Netflix MCU entries, period.
The plot and characters are all still under wraps, so we can’t add more to it than that.
But we can tell you that she will join Reeves, a returning Carrie-Anne Moss and the newly added Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Neil Patrick Harris.
I’m also hearing that Jada Pinkett Smith is also in talks to return as Niobe.
Niobe, Neo and Trinity but no Morpheus? Come on, you need to get Laurence Fishburne back!
And that’s all I have for now… what say you all? Let me know in the usual ways, guys.
