The New Mutants gets ANOTHER new release date…

May 13th, 2020 by Marc Comments

The New Mutants has another new release date. It all should have released in February 2019, then August 2019, then April this year and now… drum roll, please… we will see the movie finally arrive in August 28th.

Now, we all know that a major issue with Josh Boone’s mutant horror movie was due to the merging of 20th Century Fox and Disney, meaning the X-Men spin-off was left in freefall, struggling to find a home.

The movie tells the tale of, in Boone’s words,“Five young mutants, just discovering their abilities while held in a secret facility against their will, fight to escape their past sins and save themselves” and, while highly anticipated in 2019, will, I’d imagine, find it difficult to find an audience now that the X-Men movies are all finished and this is not a part of the MCU.

That all said, with the reveal of the movie’s villains last week (here), anticipation did seem to rise… I, personally, thought the smiling men look terrified.

So, providing that damned virus doesn’t derail the movie once more, we’ll see you all in the cinema in August.

The story of the New Mutants, a team of mutant heroes comprised of the first graduates from Charles Xavier’s school.

Starring: Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton, Blu Hunt, Henry Zaga, Alice Braga

The New Mutants arrive on April 3rd, 2020 August 28th, 2020

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
