Get ready for the new daily show

The Simpsons Movie director has been talking up the sequel…

You know, as much as we love The Simpsons, we always think that we can’t be far from the announcement that the show is on its last legs.

But nope.

If this is to be believed, then it’s not even close.

Remember The Simpsons movie from ten years ago? Well, it seems that the sequel is in the works.

Seriously.

Director of that first outing, David Silverman, has said that the sequel is in the early stages of development: “I certainly am cautious about a couple things. I wouldn’t want it to be risky in terms of budget, and I would not want it to be anything that we did purely for the money. I would want it to be a really great movie. I personally feel no need for another one unless it’s great.”

But don’t hold your breath just yet: “I’d love for there to be another one [but] We’re still a ways away from it. We talk about this and that. We’re thinking it over, but nothing’s happening just yet.”

We definitely thinks this sounds like a sequel will happen but Fox and all involved are playing it safe. We think that’s a wise move… don’t you?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
