The Six Million Dollar Man could be… Mark Wahlberg?

July 5th, 2014 by Marc Comments

As if Marky Mark being in Transformers: Age of Extinction isn’t enough, he’s now attached to another potential franchise.

Yes, the Lee Majors TV series The Six Million Dollar Man, which told the story of an astronaut who almost died in an airplane crash but was rebuilt with the best technology in the world, is set for the big screen at the producing hands of Harvey Weinstein – and not for the first time – remember Kevin Smith was briefly involved and even handed in a script? Almost 20 years ago? Feeling old, yet? Anyway, I digress… it almost got made in 2003 with Jim Carrey starring and at the time it was set to be a Starsky and Hutch type comedy at the hands of Todd Phillips too.

Anyway, the latest rumour has Battleship director Peter Berg attached with Mark Wahlberg himself in the starring role… em, yay?

No word on when we will see it – if at all – or if they really can rebuild him and if they have the technology, but time will tell…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
