Ok, so another day, another round of Marvel news. Not that we’re complaining.

So what have we got tonight? Well…

Well, the fans have been hoping we’d see a Planet Hulk movie for, well, forever now, and it looks like Thor: Ragnarok will give us something fairly close as a Hulk standalone still can’t happen due to the rights still not being with Marvel… but I digress.

Here’s how it’s (probably) going to happen: “The film will definitely have the Planet Hulk element in it, operating as a kind of mash-up with the Ragnarok story. How Thor ends up on the planet in question is unclear, but he will definitely be involved in some gladiatorial games run by none other than Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster. In terms of Hulk’s appearance in this portion of the film, he will be rocking the one-shoulder armor as seen in the comics, so expect him to be decked out in the familiar Planet Hulk look.”

In related news, work on the Nerdsphere is that Thor will have a shaved head for at least some of the movie – possibly because he’ll fight in the gladiator games of the Planet Hulk story?

Also, Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, won’t be the normally a blonde-haired warrior but will wear “war paint on her face, much like a Native American warrior”.

Other details reveal that Thor needs to find the ultimate weapon to stop Ragnarok and reset the universe. What is that weapon? no idea.

Some updates on Guardians of the Galaxy 2 too…

Man From UNCLE and The Great Gatsby star Elizabeth Debicki is in the movie and may be playing the villain of the movie: Ayesha AKA Her AKA Kismet AKA Paragon.

This viallin is something of a lynchpin in the Guardians story:

“She was created by The Enclave, a group of scientists dedicated to taking control of the world, starting with the creation of the perfect genetic beings, made to restart humanity. Their first version of this, called HIM, would later evolve into the character known as Adam Warlock, who escaped The Enclave. However, The Enclave made a second being, which became HER aka Ayesha, who also escapes and goes looking for HIM, who she considers to be her perfect mate to start a new perfect race.”

Adam Warlock of course was teased in the first Guardians movie and is the one many believe will stop Thanos in the movies, so it seem James Gunn’s space heroes may be drawing closer to that story. Which the report clarifies, will happen when the Guardians join the Avengers in Avengers: Infinity War.

Thor: Ragnarok is set to destroy the galaxy on November 3rd, 2017 while Guardians of the Galaxy will likely save it on May 5th, 2017.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
