Tom Hardy’s Venom set for Spider-man 3? And Vincent D’Onofrio wants his Kingpin in there too…

We already know things are getting all sorts of crazy in the world of Spider-man 3 with the casting of Jamie Foxx as Electro and the announcement that Benedict Cumberbatch would be playing Doctor Strange and now it seems that there could be another cool addition to the cast.

Word from scooper Daniel Richtman is that Marvel and Sony may be looking to get Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock/Venom to appear in the movie in all the (potential) multiverse madness, saying “I also hear there is an interest for Tom Hardy to show up [in the movie]”.

This wouldn’t be all that odd, given what we already know about the movie, given that many believe it could be the introduction of the Spider-verse into the live-action universe.

Also, since we saw Micheal Keaton’s Vulture appear at the end of the trailer for the Sony spider-man movie Morbius, we have no doubt now that, while not directly part of the MCU, the Sony movies are related to the core story albeit on the fringes.

On top of this, while nothing more than a tease and very possibly just wishful thinking, Vincent D’Onofrio, who played the terrifying Wilson Fisk in the Netlfix Marvel universe, coming up against Daredevil and Punisher, has teased that he would love to be a part of Spider-Man 3.

The star tweeted to Screenrant when they asked fans who they would like to see appear in Spider-man 3, saying: “When I was a boy…”:

Now, this could mean nothing more than D’Onofrio wants to return but maybe, just maybe… Kingpin is, after all, one of Spider-man’s archenemies too.

I’ve also heard that Spider-man, aka actor Tom Holland, has filmed a cameo after credits scene for Venom: Let there be Carnage already wherein Spider-man is watching a news report of the havoc being created by Carnage before he, seemingly purposefully, swings off screen. If this is true or not, I can’t say… but it all sounds very cool.

Venom and/or Kingpin in Spider-man 3? Let me hear your thoughts, gang…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
