Get ready for the new daily show

Tom Welling would love to be The Batman’s version of Superman

Fun little story for you all tonight but one that I’m sure many of you could all get behind… I know we can.

We ran a story a few days ago (here) that Smallville stars Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) and Tom Welling (Clark Kent) are pushing to get the show’s lore continued in an animated series (come on HBO Max, make it happen!) and no sooner has that news fizzled out than Smallville is back in the news.

Well, sort of.

In a new interview, Welling has revealed that The Batman star Robert Pattinson is his friend and, should DC/Warners ever decide to have that Batman meet a Superman, Welling would jump at the chance.

“My buddy Rob Pattinson, he is going to be the new Batman,” Welling said. “I would love… it would be fun to be the Superman that shows up in his movie, just because he is a friend of mine. Yeah, who knows.”

Now, look, this isn’t going to happen unless The Flash’s multiverse exploring adventure pulls Smallville’s Earth 167 (here) into the world of The Batman which is reportedly Earth-1… but come on, it’s fun to ponder, right?

Personally, I’d love to see this happen, but we already know that Smallville its own in-canon version of Batman (here). These multiverses can get very complicated, can’t they?

Matt Reeves’ The Batman is due to hit theaters on March 4th, 2022.

Oh, and speaking of The Batman, this new behind-the-scenes has just leaked that focuses on Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman and has some new footage from the movie in it. Enjoy.
