While the general vibe around Alicia Vikander’s take on Tomb Raider seemed to be one of general indifference, I actually quite enjoyed it and, as such, would be happy to see a sequel.
And it seems that’ s happening.
Swopping out the more fantastic elements of the Angelina Jolie movies and even the games, Vikander’s Lara Croft was a little more real-world, taking the hits like the best of them and it made her a more relatable, grounded hero.
And now Kill List and Free Fire director Ben Wheatley has signed on to direct the second movie from a script by Amy Jump with March 19th 2021 penned in as the release date for it.
The movie is set to begin filming early next year.
