Transformers: Rise of the Beasts – New movie title and first details revealed

June 26th, 2021 by Marc Comments

We finally have details on the next chapter in the live-action Transformers saga and it’s going in an all-new direction.

The title is Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and it will be directed by Steven Caple Jr, helmer of Creed II.

Returning to the action and spectacle that first captured moviegoers around the world 14 years ago with the original Transformers, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a ‘90s globetrotting adventure and introduce the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons to the existing battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons. Directed by Steven Caple Jr. and starring Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback, the film arrives in cinemas Summer 2022.

So far we know that Hamilton’s Anthony Ramos and Project Power’s Dominique Fishback will star.

However, since the official announcement, we have learned some cool new details about the movie itself.

Star Ramos has said of the production, which is now filming: “It was Shia LaBeouf, Mark Wahlberg and Hallie Steinfeld and [now] me.

“It’s very different. Dominique Fishback — it’s very different. Transformers has transformed!”

He goes on: “Steven Caple Jr. is a visionary, I cannot wait for people to see this man flex and really show everybody the fullness of his glory. We got some things cooking up for y’all, y’all don’t even know.”

The new movie, it seems, will be a sequel to Bumblebee rather than the other Bay movies and will once again star Optimus Prime, voiced by the great Peter Cullen once again UPDATED: Caple Jr has said the movie is “Its own thing”.

Producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura confirms this isn’t the only Transformers movie in development: “We are already working on two projects and both have scripts under development.

“One is the latest in the main family series following the events of Transformers: The Last Knight and the other is a sequel to Bumblebee. So, we are thinking of films where Optimus Prime and Bumblebee will be the buddies, but when Optimus and Bumblebee are the movies of the protagonists … how human beings get involved in their drama In the first place, the size is different between human beings and their’s …. It’s a worrying point.”

It’s interesting that they are planning on continuing both movie universes which is great because, as bad as The Last Knight was, I want the story resolved.

Other rumours about the new movie (here) say that the new movie will feature the first onscreen appearance of G1 accurate Arcee and Nightbird as well as Beast Wars’ Cheetor.

Word is the planet-sized villain Unicron will appear too with the Terrorcons acting as his henchmen. Oh yeah, the Autobots, Decepticons, Maximals, and Predacons will all feature n the movie and reportedly will sport their familiar insignias.

Along with all this, there is an animated Transformers movie chronicling the War on Cybertron in development as well as a prequel movie to the Bayformers universe.
