One of our favourite movies here at FTN HQ is TRON and it’s sequel TRON: Legacy actually managed to pip it in many ways, so the news that a third movie is coming has us all excited…
Sure, we knew it was planned in 2010 when the second movie came out, but it was starting to look like it wasn’t going to happen. And after the fantastic TRON: Uprising animated series was cancelled, we were kinda worried.
But needlessly so, it seems.
The third movie, according to Vancitybuzz, is set to start shooting in Vancouver on October 5th after Disney gave it the go ahead.
Garrett Hedlund has reportedly been confirmed to return as Sam Flynn, son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), the main character in the 1982 original, and director Joeseph Kosinski is back on helping duties.
No word on Bridges’ return or Olivia Wilde who played Quorra in the sequel.
Now, if we can just get Daft Punk back on soundtrack duties and the rest of TRON: Uprising, everyone can go home happy…
Well, we’re excited… what about you guys?
