Fans of TRON: Legacy’s phenomenal score by Daft Punk have reason to be excited as the duo are set to return to the world of movie scoring.
The French electronic music duo formed in Paris in 1993 by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter have signed on for a very different type of movie though, as they are now attached to horror maestro Dario Argento next movie.
Daft Punk’s score for TRON: Legacy (which I’m listening to as I type) is still one of my favourite scores of all-time, so the thought of the duo doing a second score is a very exciting prospect.
Argento told French magazine Repubblica that the band will be scoring his movie Black Glasses which will star his daughter, Asia Argento, and as of yet has no release date.
“[an] adventure, in nocturnal Rome, of a Chinese girl and child. In the second part, the escape takes them into the rocky, bushy countryside of Lazio.”
We’ll keep you posted, folks, but given the talent and genre, I would expect a cool 80s/Stranger Things-type horror score for this. And if that doesn’t get the blood pumping, I don’t know what will.
Let me know your thoughts, gang.
