Tyrese Gibson says he’s had talks for Green Lantern role (again)

July 15th, 2017 by Marc Comments

We’re no stranger to the idea that Fast & Furious star Tyrese Gibson REALLY wants to be Green Lantern John Stewart in the DC Cinematic Universe.

We even know he’s been in talks with about the role at Warners (here) but now the star himself is talking about the role (below):

“I would love to do it. You know, I had a couple meetings at Warner about it.

“I just think that they’re still trying to figure out what the move is. I would love to officially confirm, but I can’t. And if they go in a different direction, I think they know what’s best for the movie, but the fans started this campaign, and all I’ve done is made use of my social media to let folks know I’m interested.”

While we love Tyrese here at FTN, we fear he’s too old for the role now as new casting details suggested that the film was looking for someone between 21 and 30 for the role and Gibson is 38…

That all said, we reckon he’s kill it as Stewart – so we say be damned to his age! Give the guy the gig!

Fact is, the internet, including his millions of followers want him in the green suit, and we reckon Warners MUST be aware of this… s definitely don’t rule it out.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
