Easily staying at the top of the chart for a second week, despite the challenge of Terminator and Magic Mike, was those adorable yellow creatures the Minions.

After only ten days, the yellow creatures have amassed an impressive £20.97M, however this total is slightly behind the takings of Despicable Me 2 – over the same period of time that film took £22.91M.

As said above, there was some challenge from a couple of this week’s new films in the form of Terminator: Genisys which went in at number two and stripping sequel Magic Mike XXL which hit the number four spot.

There was space in this week’s chart for two other new entries in the form of documentary Amy which hit the number five spot and became the highest opening for any homegrown documentary and then there’s opera event Guillaume Tell which went in at number eight.

Upcoming – Not a big week for new films, however if you are after something new then you have comedy sequel Ted 2, horrendous horror threequel The Human Centipede 3: The Final Chapter and enchanting animated adventure with Song of the Sea.
