It’s always a good sign when an actor or actress openly shows they’re excited for a role. This shows fans that they don’t view this as a paycheck, or something else superficial, but rather an experience that they may treasure in times to come.
When it came to light that Viola Davis was being cast as Amanda Waller in Suicide Squad, many were happy. Turns out, so is she:
“I’m fascinated by [Waller],” says the actress. “I’m fascinated by her in this world of superhero-ness because she is not a woman that you would expect. I think that she is a massive contradiction. She’s this big powerful black woman, hard, ready to pick up a gun and shoot anyone at will. I’m fascinated in exploring her psychology, just put it that way. And I’m excited to pick up a gun.”
Davis also confirmed that she’s prepping her schedule to do the role, all but confirming (barring something unfortunate) that she will be in Suicide Squad.
Stay tuned for more updates as we draw towards the August 5th, 2016 release.
