While Cloverfield 3 seems set for Netflix rather than a theatrical release, it seems that some people’s premature concerns that the Cloverfield cinematic world is in trouble may be unfounded as it seems that the fourth movie is already in the bag.
Anyone reading our site will know that waaaaaay back in March 2017 we reported that Overlord, the World War II movie directed by Son of A Gun’s Julius Avery, produced once again by JJ Abrams and starring 22 Jump Street’s Wyatt Russell and Fences’ Jovan Adepo is indeed, technically, the first instalment in the universe (chronologically, you understand).
On the eve of D-Day, American paratroopers are dropped behind enemy lines to carry out a mission crucial to the invasion’s success. But as they approach their target, they begin to realize there is more going on in this Nazi-occupied village than a simple military operation. They find themselves fighting against supernatural forces, part of a Nazi experiment.
We love this… it’s great to know that, in this day and age, we can still be surprised and kept in the dark by studios and movies that are made by people that care about keeping the mystery alive.

The clip stars Gotham actor Donal Logue and, thanks to some sleuthing on Twitter by Cloverfield fans, we reckon the dialogue goes something like this:
Female voice: [unintelligible] Professor Mark Stambler? Mark Stambler (presumably):
[unintelligible] Tagruato, eveyrthing that’s happened, I was right. CEI (Cloverfield Energy Initiative) was a lie. Just like I predicted in my book [unintelligible]…”
On top of this a new site seems to also be pointing towards the mystery of Cloverfield 3 (whatever it may) be with newspaper clippings with writing scrawled over them reading: “Someone needs to stop this from happening!!! This is nothing but a reckless experiment that will reset the world’s grid. Stop this to save the world. T.I.D.O. Wave.”
We’re hearing more and more rumbling that the movies, while so far looking like they point to a Twilight Zone like anthology approach, may in fact be connected… could this video be part of that mystery? We do know that Tagruato is probably going to be something to look out for in the Cloverfield movies… want to bet they are tied to the nazis in the fourth movie? We’ll all know soon enough.
