Wait, what?! Could Paul Walker’s Brian O’Connor be set to return to the Fast & Furious movies?!

Right, at first we weren’t really convinced this would happen but, we gotta be honest, the more we think about it, the more we reckon this could have some legs.

So, Fast & Furious 7 was a movie that saw the death of star Paul Walker during filming and, as a result, it had to go through massive rewrites and reshoots and used Walker’s brother Caleb and Cody (pictured above with Paul) to double for the late star and, in the end, give his character of Brian O’Connor a satisfying, if emotional, send-off.

And as far as we knew, that was the end of walker’s character – at least on screen.

However, it looks like it may not be the case.

So, could O’Connor be coming back? Well, maybe…

Now brother Caleb has hinted that he may be being brought in at some point – the eighth movie is currently being shot by director F. Gary Gray with an April next year release date panned, with at least a further two planned – to replace his late brother: “I had a phone call with Vin [Diesel] for about an hour and we really discussed this a while back. He wanted [our] blessing”.

Blessing for what? “[if it] would be acceptable to maybe bring Paul’s character back… to really kind of let his fans know he’s still out there. Universal wants to make sure to be respectful of Paul and his image too, and his family.”

That’s a pretty big leap… could we see O’Connor back? Do we need to? The seventh movie did a decent job of, under almost impossible odds, giving the character a pretty solid and definite goodbye.

Still, it’s Fast and Furious… nothing is impossible.

What do you all think?
