It looks like Warner Bros/DC have an idea for who they want to helm Man Of Steel 2…
And it’s a great choice indeed.
Latest word is that they want Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn to look after Superman’s second standalone outing in the DC Cinematic Universe and this has us pretty excited.
Vaughn reimagined the entire X-Men universe over at FOX with X-Men: First Class and it’s still my favourite entry in the X-Universe, so having him looking after the big blue boy scout would be very attractive indeed.
Given DC’s seeming direction into a brighter universe and Vaughn’s thoughts on Superman in 2010 when he was looking at helming a Superman movie, he could be the man for the gig: “I think that’s the one thing not to do with Superman, trying to do the serious The Dark Knight version. Superman is about color and fun, or it should be, for me.”
Given how many fans feel that Man of Steel and Batman V Superman were too dark, this could be just the direction Superman needs.
However, Vaughn isn’t confirmed for Man of Steel but apparently Warners REALLY want him to to be a part of the DC film-making universe, so it might be fair to say you can expect to see him pop up somewhere in there.
X-Men: First Class, Kingsman… Superman? Works for us!
Let us know what you all think, guys.
