So for the last week or more there’s been a few rumours that Chris Pratt was being sought by director Steven Spielberg for the new Indiana Jones movie…

And we’re very ok with iths idea, actually. Well, as ok as we can be with Indy being recast.

However, speaking to MTV (below) at the Oscars last night, Pratt himself said he’s aware of the rumours but there’s nothing to them right now. But, if it did happen, he wouldn’t be daunted by it so long as the script was right.

“It’s all nothing until it’s something and so far it’s not something. I don’t think it’s overwhelming to contemplate, it’d be cool. No one’s called me. [There’s] A lot of talk about it. The pressure would come just because it’s such a great franchise you wouldn’t want to get it wrong, so for me it would have to be perfect to do it. We’ll see, like I said it’s nothing until it’s something.”

What say you guys? Is Starlord the man for the gig? Is Chris Pratt the new dawn of traditional heroes? Let us know your thoughts…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
