WATCH: Downey Jnr confident he’ll get an Oscar as UK Iron Man 3 clip is released

We’re honestly getting worried that by the time Iron Man 3 opens we’ll have seen it all…

But oh, my we cannot stop looking. Yahoo! have an exclusive UK clip here (sorry, we can’t embed it  folks)

In other related news, it seems Robert Downey Jnr is confident he’ll finally be recognised by the Academy and will get that Oscar that has eluded him for so long but he’s got to the point where he doesn’t really care anymore.

Speaking to GQ, the Iron Man star said: “I know it’s going to happen. That’s just a fact. I, personally, would be shocked if we went to the end of the tape now and I didn’t have at least one. Because it just doesn’t make sense. That’s why I don’t mind showing up and watching everybody else get them.

“I’m young enough, and I’m running down being occupied with these kind of genre movies, close enough. You know, honestly… I don’t care. I used to think I cared, and I couldn’t care less.

“Now, I’m not saying I wouldn’t get a little choked up, but it is amazing to see how people are literally hyperventilating when they get up there, because they have such an attachment to this outcome. I mean, it’s not like we’re at the f**king Olympics or something.

“Look, even if I don’t get one directly, eventually they’re just going to have to give me one when I get old. So no matter how you slice it, I’m getting one.”

He was also asked about his jaw-dropping $50 million (£32.5 million) payment for his role in Avengers Assemble: “Yeah. Isn’t that crazy?” he said, confirming the rumoured pay cheque. “They’re so pissed, I can’t believe it. I’m what’s known as ‘a strategic cost’.”

Iron Man 3 opens on May 3rd and also stars Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
