Oh man, these deepfake videos are just getting better and better in a creepy ‘that’s just no right’ kind of way.
The latest one has taken footage from the original Star Wars movie and replaced the great Alec Guiness with an aged Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Of course, McGregor plays Obi-Wan in the prequels and – hopefully – will soon return to the role on Disney+ so it makes sense that he be inserted in the Guiness role.
Now, I’m not saying I’d like to see this happen in future releases because I wouldn’t – Alec Guiness was Obi-Wan for a generation of Star Wars fans and always will be. But I WOULD like to see it for curiousity’s sake.
