The first footage for Zack Snyder’s highly anticipated Rebel Moon has been released and showcases Sofia Boutella’s Kora in the sci-fi actioner.

In a new trailer for Netflix’s 2023 content, we get glimpses of the movie, the characters and the ships and it does look pretty great and it’s been confirmed that the movie releases on December 22nd, 2023.

Snyder himself described Boutella’s Kora as a ‘reluctant hero from a peaceful colony who is about to find she’s her people’s last hope’.

It has also been revealed that Tom Holkenborg AKA Junkie XL, who worked with Snyder on Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Zack Snyder’s Justice League, will score the movie.

In the latest issue of Variety Ori Marmur, who, together with Kira Goldberg, runs Netflix’s original studio film group, talks about Netflix taking on Snyder’s sci-fi extravaganza: “Zack came in with so much passion.

“This is a film that he’s had in mind for decades. As you know, he’s spent so much time working on other people’s IP at other studios. We worked with him on “Army of the Dead” and we did things that others couldn’t do. We made a film and then a prequel and launched a live experience.

“With ‘Rebel Moon’ he wanted to push the envelope again. When we saw how big the world he created was, we thought it would be better served as two pieces versus one film. It’s the kind of story that can continue to grow. He thinks of it as his take on making something like ‘Star Wars’.”

What do you all think? Can Zack Snyder give the world the next Star Wars? Let us know your thoughts and we’ll know for sure this coming Christmas.
