I can’t believe they’ve finally done it…

There was the hint that Unicron was coming in the last Michael Bay movie, Transformers, the Last Knight, but nothing came of it, however, there’s no denying that Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is putting the planet eater front and centre.

I honestly never thought I’d see Unicron in live-action… but here we are!

For the first time since the animated Transformers movie in 1986, we’re finally seeing the ultimate bad in the Transformers universe and, while I was going to check this out anyways, now it has hooked me as a child of the Gen One era.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura drops loads of details on upcoming Transformers animated movie

Returning to the action and spectacle that have captured moviegoers around the world, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a ‘90s globetrotting adventure with the Autobots and introduce a whole new faction of Transformers – the Maximals – to join them as allies in the existing battle for earth. Directed by Steven Caple Jr. and starring Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback, the film arrives in theatres June 9, 2023.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
