WATCH: Jason Reitman talks to Bill Burr about Ghostbusters III

February 19th, 2019 by Marc Comments

Oh, man, when two of my favourite things meet…

On this week’s Monday Morning Podcast the one and only Bill Burr has his good friend Jason Reitman in for a chat.

And, as we all know Reitman is the man currently prepping the new Ghostbusters movie.

The interview is a lot of fun and while it doesn’t reveal anything too big, it does give us a few fun bits about the new movie.

  • Jason turned the script in December.
  • He expected re-writes but the studio approved the first draft.
  • He hopes to start shooting in the summer.
  • “It’s a love letter to Ghostbusters”
  • He’s making it for the fans.

“This is going to be a love letter to Ghostbusters. I love this franchise, I grew up watching it and consider myself the first Ghostbusters fan. I was 7 years old when it came out. I’m making a movie for my fellow Ghostbusters fans,” says Reitman.

It’s also funny because Burr didn’t realise it was Jason’s dad, Ivan Reitman, who made Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II.

Well worth a listen…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
