WATCH: Michelle Rodriquez reveals the Fast & Furious 9 IS heading to space! love it!

You may recall a few months back Fast & Furious star Ludacris seemed to hint that F9: The Fast Saga could be set to head into space (here) and we’d be lying if we weren’t aware that this was a running joke for a number of years among the film-makers and fans.

Remember that hilarious story from Seth Rogan who recalled that years ago he and Evan Goldberg joked to the producers of the FF franchise that the series should head into space and, to their surprise, one of the producers replied ‘not yet’?

Well, now it looks like it may be happening in the currently delayed due to that damned virus ninth movie.

In a new Sirius XM interview, star Michelle Rodriguez was told that Ludacris had hinted at space being part of the movie, to which she replied: “Oh, no way. How did you guys find that out? See what happens? People start talking behind the scenes, man. When a movie doesn’t come out and forget about it, things get out.

“Nobody was supposed to know that… Oh, well, no, I’m not, I’m not, I’m not lucky enough to hit space, but we did get a female writer and showed a lot of love, I think, on this one. Thanks to… Justin Lin. We were able to, to find a little bit more attention and love for the girls in the movie. And so I’m really hopeful that that, that shows through in the final product.”

Woah! Wait, what?!

I love this series of movies and am completely ok with it going to space, fighting aliens, time-travelling or whatever as long as it keeps the fun, tongue-in-cheek no compromise action that has made it one of the biggest franchises on the planet.

What say you all? Is this a step too far or are you on board? Let me know your thoughts, guys…
